Trinity Youth (6th-12th grade)
Sunday Mornings— Our youth participate in worship.
Youth Group – Sunday, following worship at 11:15, youth will gather to grow their faith together with a lot of laughter. All youth are welcome to join us for community meal following the service on September 15th. This will be a time for us to kick off the school year and our newly updated youth program. Youth will have two community meals each month.
Service – Youth will be participating in a monthly service opportunity to one of our mission partner, Stargazing Farm. On September 29th, from 12-2 students will have the opportunity to volunteer at Stargazing Farm after having a pizza lunch before departure. Other youth service opportunities include: acolyting (10+) volunteering at the fair, and helping with just about everything that goes on around here.
Wednesday Night Lights – our new and developing program is an opportunity for the high school youth at Trinity to come together and discuss major issues in their lives and how they interact with their faith. The youth will be rotating from home to home for snacks and conversation each week.
Youth Council will have their first meeting on Sunday, September 8th following worship. Anyone who is interested in supporting our youth are welcome to join. The adult portion of the council and youth are welcome to join the youth portion. The Youth Council will meet once a month.
ROCK, Retreats, and Special Events – There’s always something special going on with the youth whether it’s our annual trip to the ROCK retreat in Ocean City or a local event in the community.
Youth Fall Retreat is October 4-6 at Camp Manidokan. The retreat will offer an opportunity for our youth to start off the year deepening their relationships with God and each other. The cost is $100. Permission slips can be found in the office, on our website or you can ask our youth representative for the retreat, Isatu Funna. Confirmation—The Methodist church baptizes infants, and sees Confirmation is an important process for youth to take the baptismal vows for themselves. Confirmation is a year-long program of faith formation, retreats, field trips and fun, led by Rev. Bonnie and adult leaders. It is open to anyone 6th grade and above, and the class is usually 6th, 7th, &8th graders. This is offered every other year. The students are currently in this class and will last through the Fall of 2019.
Camp Manidokan The youth have a great time at Camp Manidokan each year, making new friends, renewing old friendships, zip lining, swimming, singing, and strengthening their faith. Manidokan comprises more than 300 acres bordered by the Potomac River and C&O Canal, 20 miles west of Frederick, Md.
