Announcements:

From the Reopening Committee, regarding masks

For the foreseeable future, Trinity is asking that everyone continue to be masked during Sunday services.  We know that wearing masks is tiresome: we are tired of not being able to smile at one another, we are tired of having to decipher muffled conversations, we are tired of our glasses always fogging up.  We know.
But, we also know that there are members of our congregation who are unable to be vaccinated, who are more susceptible to serious health issues, or who regularly interact with people in both of these categories.  We aim to be a community of care, and we want everyone to feel safe in our church building.  We cannot ignore the fact that Covid cases are still prevalent and the risk of infection is very real.  Again, we aim to be a community that is mindful and supportive of all its members and visitors.  Thank you.

Pastoral Care through remainder of June – Rev. Will Newton You can email Rev. Will with any pastoral emergencies for the remainder of June kwillnewton91@gmail.com or reach him by phone: (941) 323-4221.

On July 3rd, we will welcome Pastor Kate with a special coffee hour celebration.  Please bring a finger food treat to share.and plan to stay after the church service to welcome her.  We are asking people to share words of welcome to Pastor Kate by writing her a welcome note -either bring your own or there will be blank note cards for you to use at sign-in table beginning this Sunday (June 26th).  Place your notes in basket which will also be at sign-in table.

It is Gardening time!  We have started to work in Trinity’s raised bed vegetable garden. There is also an opportunity to help with the beautiful flower gardens. Anyone interested in being involved with Trinity’s gardening, please contact Lisa Bell at lisaannettebell@gmail.com or 301-412-4572.. We have started working from 6:30-7:30 on Wednesday evenings and plan to work on Saturday mornings around 10:00 AM (weather permitting).

Where is the UMC in regards to split and LGBTQ inclusion? Two Gaithersburg-area colleagues prepared a very insightful 30 minute video that responds to this question and others. Pastor Will Newton and Rev. Ken Hawes of neighboring congregations offered this video in our last session of Scripture and Sexuality. You can find this video here.

Children’s Ministry News:

Godly Play – Trinity Children will have a time of Children’s Moment during the Worship Service and then be invited to a classroom to further explore stories and characters of our faith with teachers.

We will be learning about God’s special people of the Bible during our Summer program.

Trinity’s Children’s Ministry is always in need of volunteers. Please find a current Sunday School teacher on any Sunday and ask how you can get involved!

We are proud of our children’s ministry and want for more people to get to participate and enjoy learning with our children. Please check out this video to learn more! Click here to learn more about our ministry with children
